Volunteers are an important and valued component of our team here at Templestowe Orchards. Our volunteers bring with them a commitment to be involved in the provision of a positive aging environment for our residents and all bring their own uniqueness, skills, life experiences and ability to interact in a meaningful manner which respects the dignity of our residents. We have a comprehensive Lifestyle and Leisure program which is developed in consultation with the residents and reviewed on an ongoing basis. This program provides a variety of experiences and opportunities for residents to continue their preferred interests and hobbies and facilities social interactions. Residents are free to choose from the myriad of experiences offered and it is within this area that volunteers play a significant role. From the provision of one to one social contact with a specific resident to being part of the support team on a planed outing or excursion, volunteers are essential to our program. The promotion of self esteem, individuality, freedom of choice and the maintenance of privacy and confidentiality for all residents is paramount. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer with us contact either the Care Coordinator or the Manager to arrange an interview. If it is something you have been considering for a while or, you are uncertain if it is really what you want to do, just make the call and you will not regret it.
