Bootscootin’ boosts brain power

Templestowe Orchards Retirement Village’s line dancers put a touch of sparkle into their
bootscootin’.
An enthusiastic group of Templestowe Orchards Retirement Village residents are boot-scooting their way to a healthier and more active life.
Dancers aged from 59 to 90 are kicking up their heels at the village's weekly line dancing classes.
Lifestyle program co-ordinator Umu Harris said having fun was the main reason for residents to get stepping.
"It's great for their minds, their memories and for their general health and fitness," Ms Harris said. "But most of all, it is an enjoyable, fun activity."
