Templestowe Orchards is well named, it is a hidden oasis set in a well planned, aesthetically pleasing environment with beautiful landscaped gardens and mature trees. However sometimes an attractive, pleasantly presented environment can be deceptive and one can find that it is really a façade and the quality of the care provided can leave a lot to be desired. This is certainly not the case here and the best testimony of the care environment comes from the residents themselves. The residents are the ambassadors of the Village and most new residents come to us from “word of mouth.” I do not have to do a sales pitch to entice residents to purchase a Unit or an Apartment, the place sells itself. From the moment a visitor enters the Village they are exposed to the positive environment that exits here and although it is intangible and difficult to objectify, it is there. The residents are genuinely happy to be here and the staff enjoy coming to work and embrace the residents and their families as part of their own family. The maintenance and promotion of the dignity and independence of the residents is not rhetoric it is an integral component of our care model. If someone feels that this could be the place for them there is no other way to find out other than coming to the Village and talking to the residents themselves – it is their Village and they are the only ones who can provide you with the very real information you require before deciding if this is the place for you or your family member.
